Go, Diego, Go!

Welcome to the Banana Republic of Diego-land.  A place where children
(and sometimes Monkeys) are legally allowed to drive jeeps and where the
sinister dealings of King Momo in his hilltop fortress overshadow events.

Diego is the older cousin of
Dora The Explorer  and lives in a rain forest
inhabited by all sorts of endangered species.  Here he and his sister Alicia
do all sorts of unwarranted meddling with the delicate ecosystem, all in the
name of Animal Rescue.

Diego's dangerously negligent parents allow him to head off on a bizarre
array of dangerous acts.  Baby Jaguar is often to be seen by his side and
the pair overcome a series of challenges in each episode.

Sister Alicia is lazy, and would rather be hanging out with the boys from King
Momo's "crops" plantation than doing any kind of work.  There's a classic
episode where Diego heads through all manner of dangers to take Condors
to their new parents, only for Alicia who was at the rescue centre at the start
of the show, to roll up in the 4*4 as Diego arrives.  Probably visiting a
boyfriend who works on King Momo's "harvests" - anyway she's always
noticeably at the back of the queue when there's hard work involved.

Look out  for our favourite euphemism in the show - the repeatedly used "...
are afraid of.." for "... are eaten by...".  As in "Chinchillas are afraid of
Pumas".

Our main problem with the show is that there are only four episodes.  OK,
that's an exaggeration - a quick glance at the always reliable (?) Wikipedia
tells us there are 35, but they always show the same ones and the song
"Chito and Rita are Spectacle Bears" haunts my dreams.
