| Step Inside Before Chris landed the presenter's role on Cbeebies, there was Step Inside. Old school kids programming at its best. The plot is a little far fetched. Chris plays Mr Mopple, the strange gardener/handyman at a big house inhabited by only a talking clock, a talking bookshelf and a cat called Twinkle. This might be sounding like the plot of an eighties straight-to-video horror movie. When the house says in a sinister voice, "Step inside, all those who like stories", you become concerned for Mr Mopple's well-being. Once Mr Mopple steps inside the house though, all is OK - no gruesome murders, just a classic children's book to be read. Mr Mopple and Twinkle the Cat trying to out-camp each other provides the comic aside. (Yes, we couldn't believe Twinkle was a boy cat either.) Back to Parents Guide to Kids TV |
